Jul. 18th, 2008

as the memories come flooding back in a field of butterflies.

well... some of you may not know this.  but since it's my nerdly duty, i am *gasp* reading in the summer!  now, i don't understand what's so awful about this... moving on.  i've read these so far...
-1984
-pride and prejudice
-pants on fire
-kiss my book
-the truth about forever
-being (again)
-candy
-twisted (again)
-speak
-marked
-the a-list
-twilight (again)
-jeremy fink and the meaning of life
-13 little blue envelopes
and, my personal favorite and current read
-deadline.
deadline is the story of a senior who is told that he only has a year to live.  it makes a ton of literary references, so i've just made my summer reading list that much longer.
these are the books i have checked out from the library that i've yet to get to:
-places i never meant to be
-the fortunes of indigo skye
-after
-all q, no a:  more tales of a tenth grade social climber
-airhead (written by meg cabot).
add that to breaking dawn, and i'll have read about 5,000 pages by the time school starts.
speaking of the newest stephanie meyer book, i've reserved my copy at barnes and noble and will be attending the release party with my friends.  i got this really cute dress from delia's to go with the theme... i just need to find an equally hot pair of shoes.

don't need i'm in love tonight.

in case you haven't noticed... i feel very extremely responsible as american to share my political spin on things.  yes, i'm smart.  whoulda thunk it, right?  anyway, i'm not at all afraid to say what i feel the need to say... so i'll say it.
-i don't understand why everyone is so against gay marriage.  they didn't do anything wrong.  they just have different preferences.  that doesn't mean that we have a right to deny them the right to get married.  same-sex marriages have just as much ability to bring up well-raised, respectful children as a man and a woman.  god made us the way we are, and we shouldn't fight that.
-why do we feel the need to kick immigrants out of "our" country.  we did the exact same thing with native americans... except we weren't blocked by a fence and guards.  enough said.
that's all i can think of right now.  over and out.
